The VW Road Trip, Beijing

Scenario

Our client, a multi-cultural marketing team from a major automotive behemoth, was slated for a 2-day “unity and cohesion”-themed team building outside of Beijing. A mix of local Chinese and foreigners from across the globe, they were making the two hour drive in their own vehicles - but wanted to start the team building experience before they left the parking lot.

And so, we took The Go Game to the streets and made some magic happen on one of Beijing’s busiest highways.

Primary Goals

  • Cross-cultural communication
  • Teamwork
  • Have fun!

The Game

Teams were split into their own cars and immediately tasked with some truly awesome feats of mental and physical prowess. As the route was slowly revealed, we tested the limits of their cultural knowledge and Chinese and English language skills. There were crazy car ads, road trip sing-a-longs, and some truly memorable animal noises. And, thankfully, everyone arrived at the final destination: a beautiful retreat in the mountains north of the capital.

Outcome

The Go Game - and overall team building - was a huge success. We were impressed by how well these cross-cultural teams worked together to reach their destination... and had a whole lot of laughs along the way.

“Thanks a lot for the awesome teambuilding! You did a great job and we received a lot of good feedback from our team so far … for me personally the Go Game was one of the best things I have done so far for team building!”
